If you are reading this blog and want to know the tips on improving the quality of your sleep then you already know the importance of a quality sleep. As you already understand the importance of a quality sleep and want to know about the ways to improve sleep quality, let’s jump to the topic right away.

Sleep Cycle

The first and most important thing to consider before we go to other points to improve sleep quality is understanding the sleep cycle. According to some research conducted to study the sleep quality, it was found that humans have a sleep cycle that lasts for about 90 minutes. That might be a little different for every individual but in most cases it is nearly the same.

This means that if you are going to your bed half an hour after your usual bed time then it might take 1 more hour for you to fall asleep as the sleep cycle repeats after every 90 minutes.

Avoid Caffeine at night

Consuming caffeine late in the day or in the night time also decreases the quality of your sleep and you might have to wait longer on bed to fall asleep.

Avoid smartphone or computer before sleeping

To improve sleep quality, it is very important for you to avoid using your smartphone, computer or any device that emits blue light on your eyes at least an hour before you go to sleep. You can also use the glasses that block blue lights from reaching your eyes.

Adjusting your bedroom environment

You might also need to make some adjustments to your bedroom to improve sleep quality. You should try to make your bedroom a quiet place by reducing any kind of noise that comes to your bedroom during your sleep. You should also switch off the lights before you go to sleep and temperature also plays a very important role in improving your sleep quality.

Change your dinner time

You should try to consume your last meal 3-4 hours before you go to sleep as it gives your digestive system enough time to digest the food before you go to bed. When you eat late, your digestive system remains on work even while sleeping which affects both your digestive system and your sleep quality negatively.

Follow all these tips and you will notice the benefits right away.
